Description

This module provides students with the necessary foundational legal and practical knowledge which will be of relevance to those investigating vulnerabilities offences. It introduces students to fundamental legislation and legal concepts/principles and relates these to investigatory practice. Topics covered will include the rules governing witness testimony, the regulation of questioning, the burden of proof, and the operation of exclusionary rules concerning hearsay evidence, confessions and character evidence, as well as good practice in investigation in relation to all these aspects.
